Olivia collects her award from Don Heys, president of Taunton Rotary Club
HIGH-FLYING gymnast Olivia Owen won a Highly Commended in the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards after dedication earned her a place in the Great Britain squad for Aerobic Gymnastics.
Olivia, of Axbridge, has competed with the GB squad at the French Open and even rubbed shoulders with the high rollers at the American National Championships in Las Vegas.
There she finished 6th in her trio even though she was nursing a badly injured ankle at the time. She competed in four British competitions last year, winning gold at the Welsh Championships.
She fundraises for the trips herself by giving coaching sessions at her local primary school.
She achieved high grades at school, gaining 11 high grade GCSEs.
