Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has revealed he would use the time-travelling powers of the Tardis to attend a David Bowie Ziggy Stardust concert.
The actor also said he would visit New York in the 1920s, and a cafe on Berwick Street in London where he left a pair of sunglasses three years ago.
Peter, who will resume his role as the regenerating, time-travelling Doctor in the show’s annual Christmas special, listed the top 10 places he would voyage to if his special powers existed in real life.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he said of the Bowie choice: “I’d seen him in the late 70s in Glasgow, putting all my cash into tickets for three of his four-night run, but I never saw Ziggy Stardust. I’d love to have seen those shows.
“I can’t believe he’s gone. A genius.”
He also revealed he would like to witness the giant leap for mankind, saying: “How fun would it be to see the Moon landings from the Moon? To be hiding behind a rock when these little human beings arrived, to see their faces and how thrilled they are to have come all that distance.”
And although Peter said he wanted to visit ancient Rome, he added that he may end up being “thrown to the lions” for being a foreigner and having a different belief system.
The former Thick Of It actor also said he would travel to his parents’ wedding, the moment his daughter smiled at him for the first time, and to Hamburg in 1962 to witness the Beatles.
“They were the soundtrack to our lives, growing up in the 1960s,” he said.
Peter’s remaining two choices were Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer’s studio in 1657, and Venice “any time”.
