Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding will be bringing Something Kinda Ooooh to the cobbles of Coronation Street.
The 33-year-old singer and actress is set to make a guest appearance in the soap this summer, as a feisty new character who will clash with Corrie’s resident troublemaker Tracy Barlow, played by Kate Ford.
Sarah said: “I am extremely excited to be joining Coronation Street. As a fan of the show it is a huge honour for me to join the cast. I can’t wait to get started!!”
Details of her storyline are being kept under wraps, but Sarah begins filming in May and will appear in four episodes over the summer.
The singer’s previous acting credits include roles in the St Trinian’s films, appearing opposite Dominic Cooper in BBC drama Freefall, and playing one of EastEnders star Danny Dyer’s wives in Ray Cooney comedy Run For Your Wife.
Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn said: “Sarah is proving to be a gifted and exciting actor and I’m absolutely delighted to have her on board. The viewers are in for a treat as her character will be right at the heart of a massive new story for the Barlows.”
Sarah’s Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola was quick to congratulate her.
