It seems we should all get prepared for Zayn Malik to start topping the charts, as Simon Cowell has confirmed the former One Direction star has signed a solo deal with RCA Records.
22-year-old Zayn, who left One Direction in March, alluded to a new deal on Twitter when he posted two tweets …
RCA Records have some big artists on the label including Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Sia and Usher just to name a few. Simon confirmed that Zayn had indeed signed a new contract, and seems to think that with the right label behind him he’ll be capable of producing something “special”.
A few of the tweets Zayn retweeted are telling, and perhaps suggest he wasn’t happy with the type of music he was responsible for putting out with One Direction.
But the 1D fans can still remain hopeful…
It’s thought Zayn has always preferred R&B and now we’ll finally get to find out – but first we just have to wait patiently for his first solo song to drop.
Maybe, just maybe, this is his Hannah Montana moment.
