Kylie Minogue has admitted she still misses Michael Hutchence, and has opened up about her cancer treatment in an emotional TV interview.

The Spinning Around singer talked to Australia's 60 Minutes about some of the toughest parts of her life, and looked back on her relationship with INXS singer Michael, who died in 1997.

Kylie dated him from 1989 to 1991 and, according to the Daily Mirror, told the programme: "I had never met anyone like that. I was probably not very cool then and he was uber-cool and somehow we met in the middle.

"I love seeing pictures of then because he was so proud."

Asked what he had taught her, she said: "Many things, weird things. We saw the world and travelled and I had so many firsts with him. It was great.

"He had this all-encompassing love of life and if you have such a strong love and they are not there, it's different to when you have a strong love and the possibility of seeing them again to talk and share experiences with.

"I miss him just as much as anyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with him."

Kylie also opened up about battling breast cancer which she was diagnosed with in 2005, saying: "Someone said to me at the time be a little bit selfish, but it's not in my nature to be selfish, but now was the time to do that, to let people take care of you and that's what I did.

"I learned many things. I know I have strength but when you are fighting something where there are a lot of unknowns there's a mixture of emotions.

"It takes years to get the all-clear, so by the time my hair started growing back it was very exciting; it was like a miracle."
