Story of Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers at Fleet Air Arm Museum
8:00pm Thursday 12th September 2013 in What's On
A NEW exhibition has opened at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton.
It presents the story of the development of the two new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Queen Elizabeth, expected to enter service in 2016 and 2018.
These will be the largest warships ever built for the Navy, weighing in at 65,000 tonnes.
This permanent exhibition shows filming of the unique ‘building block construction’, along with interactive displays which allow the user to manoeuvre aircraft on a flight deck and take off.
