A GUITARIST in the tradition of Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews plays the David Hall in South Petherton tonight (Saturday).

Powerful singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph has played professionally for over three decades, sold more than half-a-million records and is currently touring with Songs for the Coming Home, his new studio album.

For those not au fait with Martyn’s work, his own-brand music spans folk, rock, soul, folk-funk and Americana.

In 2004 he was awarded Best Male Artist at the 2004 BBC Welsh Music Awards, while in 2012 the single There’s Always Maybe won Best Folk Song in the World Independent Music Awards.

Martyn Joseph’s gig, with support from Willy Porter, starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £16.
