AS the face of Wicked, she broke a West End record for being the first in the musical’s history to play both stars, the good and the green witch.

Louise Dearman, the voice behind Glinda the Good and Elphaba the ‘wicked’, is going solo with her studio effort, It’s Time.

Tickets are on sale for her first UK tour, which kicks off in February 2014 at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil – welcome news for Wicked fans in Somerset.

It’s Time, which features lots of well-known musical theatre tracks, reached the number one spot in iTunes vocal album chart on launch day at the start of this month.

Louise told the News: “I’m often asked whether it’s daunting performing alone without that support network – it’s just a completely different experience.

“The banter with the audience, and being able to sing a huge collection of different genres of music all together in this theatrical, dramatic package, is fantastic.”

Louise cannot wait to add to her fond memories of Somerset. “I used to come down here loads as a child for caravanning holidays with my parents,” she said. “It’s a beautiful part of the country.”

n Louise Dearman’s It’s Time tour kicks off at the Octagon Theatre on Thursday, February 13, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £14 to £17 on 01935-422884 and octagon-theatre.co.uk
