IN 1938, as war’s shadow loomed once again, thousands of children were evacuated from Nazi Germany to the safety of Britain’s shores.
Ilminster Entertainments Society (IES) presents Kindertransport, the story of one such child, at the Warehouse Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday, February 12-15.
IES’s show tells the story of Eva, a nine year-old sent to stay with the Miller family in Manchester, and explores the importance of new relationships as the chaos and tragedy of the conflict unfolds.
Having long shed her identity, the discovery of old letters leads the former evacuee to confront her hidden past.
Tickets cost £8.50 or £7.50 for OAPs and £7 for children and students from Lanes Garden Shop or 07943-779880.
