POLISH mezzo-soprano Hanna Hipp, credited as a performer ‘who lights up a stage’, and Neapolitan pianist Emma Abbate are the stars of Concerts in The West’s first show of 2014, celebrating rising musical talent.
Among the music on the bill is Francis Poulenc’s Eight Polish Songs, Luciano Berio’s Four Popular Songs, Benjamin Britten’s A Charm of Lullabies Op.41 and Claude Debussy’s La Soirée Dans Grenade from Estampes.
The performance at the Meeting House in Ilminster on Friday, February 21, starts at 8pm.
Tickets cost £14 for the concert with a pre-show supper priced £11 available at 7pm. For children and students aged 12 and over tickets cost £7 – under-12s enter free with a paying adult.
Ticket holders can bring a friend who has never before attended a Concerts in the West performance free of charge.
