5IVE, one of the most popular UK boy bands of the 1990s, have been secured for two Somerset concerts this April.
The group, whose debut single, Slam Dunk (Da Funk), entered at #10 in the UK Singles Chart in 1997, will play Bridgwater's Blake Hall on Friday, April 18, and Yeovil’s Westlands venue on Saturday, April 19.
Both of these concerts are being coordinated by the Bridgwater-based music firm, SRL Promotions.
Having burst onto the UK pop scene in 1997, the group sold around 20 million records worldwide, were dubbed 'Best Pop Act' of the 2000 BRIT Awards and were repeated Smash Hits poll winners.
Comprising the original five-piece were members Sean Conlon, Abz Love, Ritchie Neville, Jason 'J' Brown and Scott Robinson. They split in 2001.
But after joining contemporaries Blue, 911, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Honeyz and Liberty X on ITV2's pop music nostalgia documentary, The Big Reunion, last year to the thrill of their fans, 5ive reunited as a band-of-four without J. Recently they completed their Greatest Hits Tour.
Tickets, £30, go on sale from Strings N Things, Blake Hall and www.seetickets.com at 10am today (Thursday February 20).
