NOEL Coward, “the most English of Englishmen”, will be remembered in Ilminster next month when a wonderful new show paying homage to his skill and wit comes to The Warehouse Theatre.

Coward wrote songs, plays, novels and poems, and acted and directed both on stage and screen, notably with Michael Caine in crime caper The Italian Job.

He believed that wit should be 'spread about like caviar...not like marmalade.'

Peter Gill, who has starred in The Jerry Lee Lewis Story, An Evening with the humour of Bob Newhart and Tom Lehrer, will perform in the show.

Simply entitled 'An Evening with the Wit and Songs of Noel Coward', Peter, an acclaimed pianist, vocalist and entertainer, performs Noel's best known songs punctuated with stories, anecdotes and quotes from the great man.

The performance takes place on Friday June 20; tickets cost £11.50 and can be purchased by calling 01823-336344.
