YOUNG performers from Stagecoach Yeovil were in fine voice as they headed south to perform at the Princess Theatre on Sunday, October 26.

The theatre, in Torquay, which recently paid host to comedian Dawn French's sell-out tour, saw 260 Stagecoach students dance, sing and perform to an array of songs from a number of music legends including ABBA, The Carpenters and Queen.

About 19 students from Yeovil Stagecoach Theatre Arts spent weeks preparing for the event, which is part of Stagecoach's live showcase event at the theatre.

The students had the audience clapping and cheering in their seats as they performed their lively renditions of Coldplay's Fix You and Happy Ending by Mika, receiving a standing ovation at the end of the show.

Tracey Richards, school principal at Stagecoach Yeovil, said: “The students have worked so hard in their preparation for the show and I was hugely proud of their performances at such a beautiful and prestigious venue.

“Stagecoach is a great starting place for those pupils wishing to embark on a performing arts career and events like this really do showcase the outstanding level of hard work by everyone involved.”
