INTERNATIONAL star of comedy Andrew Maxwell will be performing at the Guildhall for the Chard Comedy Monthly show tonight.
Irishman Andrew has gained a huge following since starting out as a stand-up in 1992 at a local comedy club run by Ardal O’Hanlon.
Since then he has won numerous awards including being voted ‘King of Comedy’ by the Channel 4 programme of the same name, ‘Comedian’s Comedian’ in the Chortle Awards and nominated for ‘Best Show’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007.
He has also appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, The Secret Policeman’s Ball and Have I got News For You, as well as releasing two DVDs and starting the Altitude Festival with fellow comedian Marcus Brigstocke in 2008.
Joining Andrew will be award-winning newcomer John Robbins, whose oddball West Country upbringing makes for some hilarious anecdotes, and resident compere Craig Campbell.
Chard Comedy Monthly will be appearing at the Guildhall tonight (Wednesday, July 1) from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from Chard Tourist Information Centre, contact 01460-65710 for details.
