COMBINE harvesters are arriving and blackbirds will be up in the trees when West Country favourites The Wurzels come to Chard next week.
The scrumpy-and-western favourites will be playing at Chard Rugby Club on Friday to raise money for both the club and local charities.
Joining the Wurzels to drink up thy zider will be Steve Carpenter from the Midwest local radio station, and there will be a hog roast and plenty of beer and cider tents to get just the right atmosphere.
The CRFC events team have been planning the evening for some time and are hoping for a large audience to create one of the best nights of entertainment this summer.
As well as improving facilities at the club, organisers hope to raise money for local charities such as Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The Wurzels will be performing at Chard RFC on Friday, July 17, from 6.30pm. Tickets cost £12 in advance and are available by contacting 01460-242400.
Tickets are also available from Top Togs and the TIC in Chard, from Bonners Butchers in Ilminster, Oscars Wine Bar in Crewkerne, The Lord Poulett Arms in Hinton St George and Dinnington Docks.
