POPULAR entertainer Richard Digance returns to the Square and Compass, near Ashill, with his guitar tonight.
As one of the original folk performers of the 70s, Richard first came to public attention as a regular on the “Live from…” variety series.
He is best known for his television one-hour specials, starting in 1985 with A Dabble of Digance, as well as stints supporting Hollywood stars Steve Martin and Robin Williams at their stand-up shows.
The stalwart performer is now a frequent guest on Channel 4 game show Countdown and often performs comic rhymes before the commercial break.
His evergreen career has been acknowledged through numerous awards, including a BAFTA nomination and a Gold Award from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
The show, featuring a mystery special guest, starts about 9pm, with doors open from 8pm and pre-booked food available from 7pm.
Tickets are £12 in advance on 01823-480467 or £14 on the door.
