AWARD-WINNING Russian pianist Nikolai Demidenko will be performing at The Brewhouse theatre in Taunton tonight.

A student of the Moscow Gnessin School, the classical musician (pictured) has given recitals throughout the UK, Europe and Russia and has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide.

Demidenko is a noted champion of the works of neglected composers including Clementi, von Weber and Medtner as well as more unfamiliar works of well-known composers such as Mozart, Scarlatti and Schubert.

Demidenko, who holds a visiting professorship at the University of Surrey, will be performing a selection of compositions for audiences at The Brewhouse, including Chopin's Sonata No. 2 and Beethoven's Sonata No.8 in C minor Pathétique.
