Yeovil Town striker Marcus Stewart

THERE is speculation this morning that Yeovil Town's experienced striker Marcus Stewart has turned down the first offer of a new contract.

He is understood to have been unhappy with the deal presented before him, but is still hoping that the contract issue can be resolved so that he can remain at Huish Park.

The 35-year-old striker, voted Yeovil's player-of-the-season, is highly-regarded by Glovers' fans and they would dearly love to see him plying his trade at Huish Park again next season.

Other new contract talks with key personnel such as skipper Terry Skiverton and keeper Steve Mildenhall are also believed to be on-going.
