PEOPLE are needed to join the committee who help to organise the ever-popular and successful village street fair.

Following another great event in 2012, the majority of the existing committee are stepping down in order to let others have a go.

Roger Beer has taken on the role of chairman on an interim basis, but is looking for more people to join the committee.

If you can help with ideas for raising the funds required to put on the street fair, Roger would be very pleased to hear from you.

The committee is in need of people who can help with tasks such as lighting, bunting and staging.

The street fair has existed to allow various groups, organisations and businesses in the village a chance to raise their profile and funds.

Organisers have said, however, that if no new members come forward then the fair might have to dissolve.

Villagers have thanked the retiring committee members for their efforts – especially to long-serving Colin and Margaret Slade.

Anyone wanting to get involved can contact Roger Beer on 01460-30779 or 01460-30569. A meeting will be held in the New Year to discuss the way forward.
