EVENT organisers Across the Divide have once again been celebrating the success of the BBC’s One Show Rickshaw Challenge.

Team Rickshaw alone raised £1,127,317 for the 2012 Children in Need Appeal.

It involved a team of six youngsters, all of whom have been supported by or are still supported by Children in Need-funded projects, embarking on an arduous journey on November 9 in Wales and completing a marathon 411 miles to BBC TV Centre in London.

Across the Divide were again the organisational force behind the challenge.

As well as the commitment and dedication of the cycling team it takes the professional know-how and experience of a trusted event team to ensure that such a complicated rolling event was a success.

Events manager Paul Collin said: “There are so many considerations when organising an event like this.

“As well as crucial aspects, such as the safety of the riders and the public, you’ve got to plan for the unexpected – people being taken ill, bad weather, last-minute changes to the schedule etc.”

Across the Divide managing director Mark Hannaford said: “We were delighted to again be the chosen events managers for the BBC’s Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge.”
