WW2 staff car rumbles into school

PUPILS at Chard School got the chance to explore and learn more about a car which was used in the Second World War.

An Austin 10 Staff Car, owned by the husband of a teacher at the school, Mrs Bilboe, went to the school in Fore Street during Remembrance Week.

Mr Bilboe has only owned the car for a month and is currently in the process of restoring it to its former glory.

During the week pupils also had a talk from Peter Taylor, who spent his childhood on Guernsey during the war when it was occupied by the Germans.
