Man dies after Station Road collision
A MAN has died following an accident last night (Monday) at Station Road in Ilminster.
The incident happened on the B3168 Station Road at about 7.40pm. A car driving towards the A303 Southfields roundabout was in the process of negotiating a left band after crossing the River Isle when it was in collision with a roadside sign and lamppost.
A man travelling in the vehicle sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with life threatening head injuries, but died earlier today.
The road was closed following the incident to allow collision investigators to make a detailed examination of the scene.
