Parents to learn about literacy

PARENTS of pupils at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster will themselves be able to learn more about how literacy is taught in class.
The school will be holding a Literacy Evening on Tuesday, March 19, from 6.30pm led by head teacher John Jeffery and literacy subject leader Andrea Jones.
It will include a short presentation on the teaching and learning of phonics and an explanation of Talk for Writing, the way they now approach writing through the school.
Mr Jeffery said: “We hope to have some children come along and talk about their work. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible.”
