Ariel Atom backs Somerset!
THE makers of the UK’s fastest lightweight sports car are helping to put Somerset into the fast lane of industry.
The Into Somerset organisation offers a tailored business relocation service for firms looking to move to the county and gives them advice and information to make the move possible.
The organisation has announced that it has created more than 1,000 jobs in the county since late 2009 – which equates to around £28m in salaries.
The news comes hot on the heels of the group fitting two new trailers in Framptons’ Transport Services fleet with a curtain-livery based on its ‘well-connected’ campaign to create a mobile billboard to spread the good name of Somerset around the country.
And that is where Crewkerne’s very own Ariel Motor Company help to accelerate the campaign further.
The company’s latest Ariel Atom 3.5 version is featured on the lorry curtain and director Simon Saunders, who is also an Into Somerset ambassador, is delighted.
He said: “We have lived and worked in Somerset for numerous years, having relocated from Buckinghamshire.
“We needed space to work with vehicles and were looking for an area that combined traditional rural life, with modern working capabilities, as well as good access to the coast, London and great schools – without being overcrowded or busy.
“To us, Somerset is a ‘working’ county, but one that retains its beauty and countryside.
“The nature of our growth means we do not need to be in an industrial centre and we can reap the benefits of working in a part of the country where we choose to live.
“We provide local people with skilled jobs and are delighted to have a reliable and enthusiastic workforce on our doorstep. Continuity and dependability are very important to us as a business, allowing us to maintain our size and reputation.”
