Yeovil Town favourites kick off new housing development
11:00am Friday 4th October 2013 in News
FAN-favourites Kevin Dawson and Paddy Madden have opened the doors to a brand new four-bedroom show home at a stunning new development on Lyde Road.
Smiling and laughing as they were shown around Elan’s exclusive Harbin Fields venture, the pair were there ahead of an official launch event at the development, which will take place on Saturday, October 12.
Visibly impressed by the properties, the Dublin-duo got the chance to see inside the show home itself and were delighted to find that one of the bedrooms had been kitted out in full club colours.
With both players asking for a brochure before they left, 23-year old Madden explained why the development had appealed to him.
“I’d read a bit about these homes online and so I was made up to be shown around Harbin Fields”, said the last season’s top scorer.
“Kevin and I can’t quite believe how nice these homes are inside and outside, and I really think I’ve got a few friends this development could be perfect for. You really do feel at home stepping inside one of these properties and I got a really good feeling walking around here today.”
The players visit delighted Elan staff on the development including lifelong Yeovil fan Rob Bicknell.
“It’s a day in work I’ll never forget”, admitted the construction worker.
“Both of them were total gents and I was so proud to be showing them around this site. It’s really such a fantastic development and I’m just so glad people are starting to hear about it.”
Once complete, the Harbin Fields development will feature a total of 35 properties with a variety of four-bedroom designs, together with 10 affordable homes.
It is being built on what was once a football pitch several decades ago so it already has a strong sporting history.
The development puts residents right in the heart of town and is served by two railway stations – Yeovil Pen Mill on the Bristol to Weymouth line and Yeovil Junction on the London Waterloo to Exeter line.
Meanwhile, there are a number of schools close to the development, including Grass Royal Junior School, Buckler’s Mead Community School and Milford Infants’ School among others, while further education is offered by Yeovil College.
For more information hopeful homebuyers can visit the development on Lyde Road for the show homes launch on Saturday, October 12 from 10am to 5pm.
Visitors can enjoy drinks and nibbles and chat to Elan’s friendly sales executives while they look around the new show home and see the Yeovil Town themed bedroom.
The show home and marketing suite will then be open from Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm.
