Flood alert for South Somerset rivers

A FLOOD alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the South Somerset rivers, upper reaches.
Flooding is possible for the rivers Parrett and Isle and tributaries and will remain a risk over the next few days.
Low lying land and roads will be affected first.
Particular locations at risk are the A356 and the B3165 at Chiselborough, the road at Ashford Mill, the Isle Brewers to Fivehead road at Isle Brewers, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and the B3168 at Ilford Bridges.
River levels on the River Isle at Donyatt, River Isle at Ashford Mill, River Parrett at Chiselborough and River Parrett at Gawbridge are stable, but are expected to rise overnight in response to the forecast rainfall.
