Boys rescued in Yeovil mud trap drama
FIREFIGHTERS were called after two boys got stuck knee deep in mud in Yeovil this morning.
Two crews and a special rescue team were sent to Summerhouse Hill, just after 10am.
The fire service said crews "were mobilised following a distressed call from the mother of a 10 year old boy who had got stuck in mud, halfway up the hill, along with his 11 year old friend.
"Shortly after arriving crews located the children approx 150m up the hill and set to work attempting to gain access to effect a rescue.
"Crews were then able to quickly extricate the children, uninjured and in good health, from the knee high mud, into the hands of paramedics for a check over.
"Duty of care was left with the ambulance and the parents."
