SOMERSET cricketer Max Waller was left ‘spewing’ after he was asked for ID while trying to buy a DVD in Sainsbury’s.

Max, 25, was purchasing a DVD with a 15 rating but was asked to produce proof of his age when at the check outs.

Following the incident, he posted on Twitter: “Unbelievableeee scenes at Sainsbury's today! ID'd for a '15' DVD! #surelyidontlook14 #baby-face #spewing #lostit #gutted #jobsworth #token”.

Sainsbury’s operates a Think 25 policy for all age restricted items that they sell, including DVDs which they say is to protect young people from what may be inappropriate for them.

A spokesman said: “We’re sorry Mr Waller was bowled over by our policy.  However, we do need to ensure that any age-restricted products are sold responsibly and that all our colleagues comply with this policy correctly.”
