A MEMORIAL bike ride has been held for a teenage cyclist killed in a hit-and-run in Bath.

Friends of former Holyrood Academy student Jake Gilmore, 19, held a Respect Ride on Saturday in the city.

On the group’s Facebook page, Jake’s parents, Toby and Sue, who live in Horton along with Jake’s brother Max, said although they could not face attending the event they wished the organisers well.

The group rode through the city to Midland Bridge, where Jake was hit on Saturday, November 16, and then flowers were laid with lit candles and a minute’s silence was held in memory of Jake.

His former head teacher at Holyrood Academy, Maurice Hicks, said he was a super young man with a bright future, very popular with students and staff.

“He was a very sociable person – always in the thick of events and gatherings.”
