AN INCREDIBLE £2,000 was raised at the Friends of Chard School Christmas fair. There was a host of stalls at the fair including a raffle, crafts, Chard School items and toys.

Pupils ran games stalls including ‘pin the tail on Rudolph’ and ‘guess what’s in the box’ while there was also a busking corner.

Tea, coffee, mulled wine and bacon butties were on sale and Father Christmas even took time to make an appearance.

Cricket St Thomas Leisure Centre donated the star prize in the raffle of three months’ membership and other contributions were donated by parents, family and friends.

Head teacher Jane Bruce said: “Thank you to the Friends of Chard School Committee for organising the fair and to everyone who supported it.”
