MORE than 2,000 people passed through the doors of the Minster in Ilminster last week to be part of a spectacular festive event.
The sixth Ilminster Christmas Tree Festival ran from Monday to Saturday, with 51 trees given by individuals and organisations under one roof.
Visitors helped worthy causes by giving money at the trees, each of which represented a charity, including SURE, the Alzheimer’s Society and Rotary clubs.
Organiser Elizabeth Ferriss said: “It was very successful and the trees looked fantastic, particularly at dusk – it was very dramatic with the lights.
“We are still waiting to hear how much money was raised for all the charities but people were very generous.”
