Yeovil Express: Traditional nativity - in more ways than one Traditional nativity - in more ways than one

ELIM Pentecostal Church held two children’s Nativity services in a Barn.

The events took place at Goose Slade Farm and involved the Children of Elim’s Nursery and Preschool.

Amidst appalling weather the children and over four hundred visitors braved the storm and packed into the barn near Sutton Bingham  to celebrate Christmas just like it happened in the Bible.

The Nativity events included Donkey rides, Goats, Pigs and Geese as well as bouncy castles.

Revd Howard Davenport the pastor of the Elim Church said: “Jesus came to be with us and to do that he was born in a barn - so this is the best place to celebrate the Nativity.

"The fact that our weather was so poor demonstrates that the original barn was very uncomfortable for him and it shows that Jesus wants to be with us wherever we are.”
