Police make 120 Christmas drink-driving arrests in Somerset

THERE were 120 arrests for drink- or drug-driving offences in the Avon and Somerset Police force area under Operation Tonic during December.

From December 1 to 23 there were 93 arrests, followed by four on Christmas Eve, four on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and 13 between December 27 and December 30.

Of the 120 arrested since the beginning of the month, 71 have been charged and bailed to appear in court.
