Yeovil Express: Crime-fighting Yeovil shopper sought by police Crime-fighting Yeovil shopper sought by police

A VIGILANT shopper who helped foil a theft in Yeovil is asked to contact police.

On Sunday, January 19, a shopper at the Lidl store on Lyde Road informed staff about two women seen with a foil-lined bag full of shop products.

These items were not paid for as the women went through the tills and paid for a single cookie.

The women left the store and were approached by shop staff at which point they ran off and left the bag in the hedge.

Two women, aged 42 and 33, have been arrested on suspicion of theft and after being interviewed were released on bail while police continue their investigation.

The shopper who first informed store staff about the incident did not leave their details but police would like to speak to them about what they saw.

That person, or anyone who knows who it was, should contact police on 101 and quote 6348/14.
