DRAMATISTS will descend on Ilminster this weekend for the hotly awaited County Drama Festival of one-act plays.

Adjudicated by Ian Sarginson of GODA, and hosted by The Warehouse Theatre, the drama starts from 2pm on Saturday.

First up is Frome Drama Club with ‘Me & My Friend’, then Taunton Thespians present ‘Breakdown Point’, a shortlisted original.

‘Everyday Thinking Refined’ by Echoes is next, while the original script awards take place at 5pm.

Taunton School will perform ‘Eclipse’ at 7.30pm, followed by another Taunton Thespians’ one-acter, ‘Drinks and Conversation’ by Maat Az Ward, then ‘The Final Act of Henry Gladstone’.

Sunday starts at 3pm with Ilminster Entertainments Society’s ‘Philip & Rowena’, and ‘Café Society’ by Swan Theatre Co. The St Gregory Players will finish up with ‘Footprints In The Sand’ before the final adjudication at 6pm, and awards ceremony.The winners and runner-up will perform at the Wessex Divisional Quarter Final in April.
