DOODLING was celebrated at Swanmead School in Ilminster as youngsters got creative last week.
On Friday, the school took park in National Doodle Day, an initiative which allows pupils to spend tutor time doodling and being creative.
Inspired by the work of famous artist Jon Burgerman, pupils were able to submit their doodles in a national competition with a chance of winning a great prize.
To submit their artwork each child had to pay £1 and the school sent the proceeds to Epilepsy Action.
Head teacher Mark Walker said: “This was a really effective and rewarding activity to get involved in.
“Tutor time was really quite special with children quietly listening to music and enjoying the opportunity to let their minds run free while free drawing.
“This is something we’ll certainly get involved in again.”
