CHARD Museum and Heritage Centre volunteers are looking forward to this year's opening day on Monday, April 7, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

The highlight this year will be the World Wars displays which include a travelling exhibition from the Somerset Heritage Centre during April.

At their annual general meeting last week, Gwyneth Jackson and Margaret Ridley, joined as trustees.

Gwyneth will be promoting their education resources to schools and Margaret will be organising their volunteers' duties.

A large bric-a-brac and second hand book sale will take place on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, April 18-19 and admission to the museum is free.

The museum will remain open until November 1 except on Sundays and adult admission is £4 but discount vouchers are printed in a Somerset tourist leaflet available from tourist information centres and other attractions. Accompanied children are admitted free.
