Redstart Primary School's Ofsted delight
12:00pm Friday 11th April 2014 in News
STAFF and pupils at Redstart Primary School in Chard scored top marks in their latest OFSTED report.
The school, which had previously been rated ‘Satisfactory’ was graded ‘Outstanding’ in an inspection carried out last month.
It received gold stars across the board for pupil achievement, safety and behaviour, teaching quality, leadership and management.
Principal Suzanne Flack said: “To get outstanding judgements for all aspects is extremely challenging and is testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all the staff, pupils and governors.
“As principal I am extremely well supported by an excellent team, including senior leaders, teaching staff, teaching assistants, office staff, site staff, governors and parents.
“I am delighted the report recognises everyone’s contribution to the success of our school and the very supportive and happy learning environment which we have created.
“I am always very proud of all our pupils and it was fabulous to see that OFSTED noted how exceptional they are too, choosing to describe their ‘exemplary behaviour’, ‘outstanding attitude to learning’ and ‘keen-ness to learn’.
“While we are delighted with the outcomes to our report, we see this as part of our journey to future success and will continue to develop and improve the school.”
In reward for all their hard work, pupils enjoyed a special end-of-term non-uniform fun day packed with theatre shows, picnic, egg hunt and inflatable assault course.
Chairman of governors Eric van de Barselaar added: “We have a great team of teachers and teaching assistants at Redstart and the governors are very grateful for all their hard work and outstanding teaching.”
