THE grandfather of a Chard schoolboy is running the London Marathon for a charity close to his family’s heart.

Paul Blackburn, 57, will run his first marathon in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – the same charity his five-year-old grandson Logan McKerrow gave money to when he sold a replica Olympic torch on eBay.

Paul, who has received support from a number of businesses in the town, will raise at least £2,000 for the charity.

He was given a high visibility polo shirt fromWoods Taxis, Styles Hairdressing, Chard Garden Centre and Country Butchers of Holyrood Street, printed by Barrons.

Staff at Styles of Howards Row in Chard will also wear the charity’s Tshirt all week.

The family wanted to thank everyone for their support and anyone else who wants to give can do so at the Just Giving Page http://www.justgiving.com/Kerry- McKerrow or by texting PBPB57 and £5 to 70070
