THE cost of a number of projects in Ilminster over the next two years has been released.

Painting the Minster ground railings will cost the town council £4,000 and maintaining the cemetery wall will set it back £3,600.

Maintenance of the Market House will cost £1,200, fencing at Winterhay Recreation Ground is £650 and killing weeds at Wharf Lane Recreation Ground and groundwork at the cemetery will both cost £600 each.

Right, that accounts for £10,000 on routine maintenance over the next two years. Interesting yet again that there is no mention in that timescale of the Multi Use Games Area on the recreation ground that was flavour of the month a couple of years ago and incurred a rise in the Ilminster parish precept which I gather raised a tidy sum of cash to pay for, and which nothing has been heard of since, or indeed any other project that will benefit the town!.
