The Cambian Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist care and education, has acquired Lufton College in Yeovil.

Cambian Lufton College provides a specialised environment that supports young people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex health and behavioural needs. Learners at the college are supported to access person-centred learning programmes incorporating vocational learning, practical life skills development and therapeutic support. The college is Education Funding Agency (EFA) and Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) funded and offers flexible placements including up to 38 week residential and day services.

The acquisition represents Cambian’s first offering of further education to young people with learning disabilities. It is committed to ensuring Cambian Lufton College continues to provide excellent services, and has no intention of implementing changes to the care and support currently being provided or to the staffing at the college. Moreover, the college will benefit from an enhanced support network and additional investment in areas including facilities and accommodation.

Stephen Bradshaw, Managing Director of Cambian’s education services, comments: “The alignment in values between Lufton College and Cambian, and our shared commitment to providing outstanding care and education to young people were core to the acquisition. We are committed to ensuring the college remains a leading provider of specialist further education for young people with learning disabilities and complex needs.”

Cambian provides services for over 2,400 individuals and employs more than 6,000 people and is committed to actively enabling each and every learner to achieve their personal best.
