A CANCER patient is holding a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Tatworth Playing Field to raise money for a charity close to her heart.
Mother-of-three Jill White, of Tatworth, was told she had breast cancer in August.
In January, Jill, who worked at Chard Tesco, started her chemotherapy, and she and Alison Whittingham, who is also having cancer treatment, started the Mad Hatters campaign to wear a different hat every day, to cheer them up.
At the party tomorrow (June 8) all the hats they have collected as part of the campaign can be bought. A handbag donated by Mulberry will be auctioned and there will be a bar, raffle and a rounders competition. Jill hopes to raise at least £1,000 for Cancer Research UK and is running the Taunton Race for Life.
