CHILDREN at Swanmead School in Ilminster have been cooking up a storm and getting dirty doing gardening activities as part of a survival project.
They have grown food, dug trenches, learnt first aid and lit fires around the school site.
The project ended with the food the children had grown being used to make pizzas.
Teacher Mark Hodder, who led the project, said: “The Bear Grylls effect has been well and truly around for these pupils this week as they take with them the skills and experience of surviving in tough circumstances.”
