YEOVIL Hospital is calling for local people to join its organisation as Governors, ensuring those living in communities in and around Yeovil can help shape future services.
Governors play an important role in NHS foundation trusts, working with the Board of Directors to ensure that the Trust delivers services that reflect the needs of users.
Yeovil Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Governors are drawn from a membership of more than 8,000 people with an interest in the Hospital and local NHS care.
Governors will be consulted on proposals for substantial service developments and change, receive the annual report and accounts, represent the views of members, develop the membership of the Trust and hold the Board of Directors to account for the performance of the Trust.
The Hospital’s elections are now open. The deadline for nominations is July 18.
Peter Wyman, Chairman of Yeovil Hospital, said: “By acting on behalf of their constituents, Governors help share the experiences, ideas and aspirations of local people which are vital in shaping our hospital for the future.
“I would encourage anyone who has a genuine ambition to help Yeovil Hospital be the best it can be, to consider putting themselves forward as a Governor.”
