A DRAGON occupying a Somerset street this summer is proudly displaying the words Chard and Ilminster.

Somerset Dragon, designed by Emma Thackray, is outside the aptly named Green Dragon pub in South Street, Wellington.

The dragon is one of 31 scattered around Taunton, Wellington, Wiveliscombe and villages as part of this summer’s Taunton Deane Dragon Trail.

The trail is raising money for good causes, aims to bring people to the area and create some family fun. It is emulating the successful Gromit Unleashed trail staged in Bristol last summer.
