SOUTH Somerset District Council’s Heritage Team will be presenting a series of Remembrance Lectures in a number of venues across Yeovil to remember the First World War in South Somerset.
The monthly lectures will start in August and culminate in a special Remembrance Day Lecture on November 11. The lectures will be given by Heritage Information Assistant, Joseph Lewis and strike a balance between the Home Front in Yeovil and remembering the men on the front line.
Commenting on the forthcoming lectures, Joseph said, “Remembrance is one of the significant factors with the lectures, especially what and why we remember.
“We would like those attending the lectures to bring memories, photographs and objects to share with others and to record these for future generations”.
