STRESSED out parents in Somerset are choosing to go away on holiday without their children, says Thomson holidays.

Over the past two years Thomson has seen a 46% rise in holidays booked by worn-out parents wanting to get away without the offspring.

One in three parents said they chose to go on adult-only holidays as they needed a rest, while nearly half said they went away without their children so they could spend more time with their partners.

Probably one of the worst pieces of journalism I've seen. Sheer laziness and to think someone got paid to write this.

Or maybe children stay with grandparents? Cousins? Just because parents are away without their children doesn't mean the children are home alone in an empty house digging in the bin for food. Lazy, sensationalist writing.

Why are Parents these days so worn out? My Grandmother had 10 children, my Mother eight, neither had time to be worn out or go away on holiday.
