A QUIZ for Stocklinch-based charity Horseshoes and Handprints raised £302.

Linda Piggott-Vijeh organised the event held at The Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster.

She said: “We all had a really great evening and to have 14 very competitive teams was brilliant.

“I was very lucky to have the help of my fellow district councillor Sue Osborne in setting up the event.

“All the questions and games were loosely based on horses, shoes, hands or prints, to give the evening a twist.

“We also boosted funds by having a caption contest.

“Special thanks to Stuart Shepherd who donated a £50 voucher for food at the hotel and Taunton Racecourse for two tickets to Taunton races as prizes.

“I would also like to thank the Mayor of Ilminster, Emma Jane Taylor, who was unable to attend but gave us a donation.

“It was great to see so many parents of children who have benefited from the important therapy work carried out by the charity were there to show their support.”
