PEOPLE in Somerset are being reminded that they can vote for a national children’s charity to receive a grant towards the work it does.

People can vote for Bibic, which has headquarters in Langport and has been shortlisted to receive a grant of up to £3,000 from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014.

Mary Matthews, Fundraising and PR Team Leader at bibic, said: “At this stage in the competition we really need the votes of everyone who supports us to be in with a chance of receiving the grant.

"It would make a huge difference to us and if we are successful the money will go towards lots of the work we do helping families and their children.”

People can vote for bibic in participating branches of Lloyds bank in Bridgwater, Glastonbury, Ilminster and Street. Visitors to the banks should approach the enquiry desk to ask for a token to vote with.

They can also vote via SMS by texting VOTE CYN to 61119. Text message votes will be charged at the mobile users’ standard message rate and the phone number will only be used for administration of the Community Fund voting process.

Mary added: “People can also vote via Twitter by re-tweeting tweets from the bibic account @bibic_charity or tweeting from their own accounts, including the hashtag #CommFund CYN. People can also visit https://lly-cf.co.uk/CYN to vote.”

Only one vote per community group, per mobile number, twitter account and branch visit is allowed to ensure fair play. Voting closes on Friday, October 10.
