MALICIOUS notices which were put up around South Petherton encouraging villagers to try and prevent a family from moving there are being investigated by the police.
The messages were encouraging other villagers to try preventing a named family from moving there, and made various allegations about them and their behaviour.
Police want to hear from anyone who might have seen notices being put up in South Petherton, which are being investigated as possible malicious communication, as well as any related messages on social media.
The victim took down a number of these identical posters and reported it to police September 25.
There was a similar message circulated on Facebook around the same time.
Investigating officer PC Kevin Sugg said: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who saw the posters being put up, or knows the origin of the social media message.
"They can contact me at Chard police station by dialling 101 and quote crime reference 99253/14.”
